gotta go fast

using my computer as fast as paper

today I want to talk about calendars and todo lists. More specifically how to interact with them in a more efficient way. I have never been keen of calendars on my computer because I had to open an app, load the interface, and by the time i clicked all the buttons. I could have grabbed a pencil and a paper. Hence I always have post it notes on my desk. First of all, I stop using Thunderbird as my calendar and I install calcurse, a terminal based calendar, this usually means that I can open it quickly. But most important, calcurse's todo lists can be edited without opening calcurse.

This means I can automate taks, and also create shortcuts to interact with it. My window manager, i3wm, supports custom shortcuts, I can simply bind my scripts. Now I can just press a button and be prompted for my task, or get my task list.

The problem with organizing faster than light is that I can't run away from my duties.
